mini vacation

i have recently mentioned my mini vacation, a cruise to the bahamas. horray...today is the day! 
shellie (the bride to be), annmarie, crystal, laura, krysta, kelly & myself are loading up an expedition, making a 12 hour trek to port canaveral, florida & cruising to the bahamas to celebrate shellie's upcoming nuptials.   
i am so looking forward to this weekend getaway but i have to admit that i am a bit anxious.  maybe it's because we leave this afternoon & i haven't packed?! maybe it's because the whole pregnant in a bathing suit thing is so weird to me?! speaking of pregnant in a bathing suit, how the heck do you tan the posterior side of your body if you can't lie on your stomach??? it could also be knowing i am leaving philip & hampton for a few days or the idea that we have a nursery to start on. either way the excitement far outweighs the anxiety.
it's going to be so nice to get away for several days, have an entire week off work & come home to a doctors appointment where philip & i get to see addison in 3D again. 
i'll be sure to post some bump pics when i return & my 23 week journal to addison.

 we had fun & mum did such a great job (thank you again). i'd love to take credit for the idea but it was philip's. i think he said it jokingly but i thought it was an awesome & totally perfect especially because i was stumped for this weeks picture.

addison has been getting lots of things in the mail lately from friends & family.  this week she got several outfits off her registry from kelly, jeff & baby emma.  her wardrobe sure is growing.

when her auntie emilee found out she was a little girl she bought her aiden + anias swaddling blankets. those & lots of headbands from etsy, burp clothes, shoes, bibs are tucked away in the baskets at the top.

she is definitely already a very loved little girl. 

update

i saw my OB on monday & everything looked good. they reassured me that addison is very cushioned & because i didn't hit my stomach, the fall probably didn't phase her.  

philip felt addison move for the first time sunday evening, surprisingly, the night of my fall. it was pretty amazing 

i had mentioned in my nursery plan post that i was looking for a 2nd set of curtains with interesting detail for addison's room & i finally found them. they arrived yesterday & i can't wait to see what they will look like in her room

crazy days

we have had a lot of excitement the past 2 days, unfortunately not good excitement.  yesterday the state had 62 tornadoes touch down with confirmed fatalities in Raleigh.  the state is a mess & i heard on the news this morning that 100,000 people are still without power. thankfully while addison & i stayed safe at work, philip & hampton were safe at home. 

this morning i took a big tumble. i fell down the stairs leading to our 2nd floor. thankfully i didn't land on my stomach but as a result i jammed my right pinky finger, have rug burn down my back, hit the back of my head 3 different times & eventually landed really hard on my tailbone.  needless to say i am wicked sore & super paranoid.  i have been feeling addison move all afternoon but i am still nervous. i know what to look for & haven't had any abdominal pain or cramping so that has been reassuring.  i will see my OB tomorrow morning to make sure addison is okay for sure & get my rhogam shot. my blood type is B- & i was supposed to get the shot anyway at 28 weeks but the OB on call told me they want to give it to me tomorrow.  i am sure everything is okay.

growing

i can't believe how fast my pregnancy is going by.  i am seriously loving every minute of it. still no morning sickness & no cravings.  i have TONS of energy & i think i am starting to nest.  i have this overwhelming sense of unpreparedness & have been obsessed with cleaning. i want to make sure everything is perfect before addison gets here.  as my belly is growing i have been experiencing round ligament discomfort & have started to sleep with a body pillow, although, i don't think i even know how to appropriately use it, lol.  

i am in baby girl heaven & have been buying LOTS of adorable clothes for addison.  i have bought stuff online from etsy, toobydoo, tea collection, janie & jack, velvet & tweed, mini boden & zara.  i have scored some awesome deals at 77 kids, crazy 8, h&m & my new favorite place in raleigh, babiology. i can't help myself :)i have even gotten myself a few things from asos maternity collection, everly grey & boden's maternity collection.  i am mostly just wearing my regular clothes though.

addison is the length of a carrot this week & she weighs about 10 1/2 ounces. she is GROWING & very active.

hampton looks like he is checking my belly out.  he totally knows addison is in there. my bump is big enough that it still pokes outward when i lay on the couch & he likes to rest his head on it.

okay, so maybe i am poking my belly out just a tad but philip is also taking this pretty close up. it's definitely growing though!

addison was being really sweet during the ultrasound last monday so the tech turned 3D on for us to get a better glimpse of her.  we tried for 20+ minutes to get her to look at us but she was content snuggling, sucking her thumb, sucking her toes (yes, she had her foot in her mouth at one point) & just rolling around.  nonetheless the tech was able to capture a few, not so creepy, ultrasounds in 3D.  because addison is still so skinny some of the pictures are quite creepy & very "scream" like.

my bump has popped even more since monday & it makes me really excited. i actually look pregnant now. i can feel addison moving more & more...it's the most amazing feeling.

addison got a gift & sweet little note in the mail today from aly.  they are precious & couldn't be more perfect! thank you aly WE LOVE THEM!!!

and the baby is....

there have been many incredible moments of my life: philip proposing, my wedding day, graduating from college & finding out that i was pregnant.  finding out the baby's gender today was definitely another one of those moments.
we had our family that lives in the area & a few of close friends over for a little party to reveal the gender.

1st beach trip

this weekend was awesome. finished the cooper river bridge run in 58 min 19 1/2 weeks pregnant & i am pretty dang proud of myself. i felt great the entire time & took it slow & easy.  we had an awesome time with tiff & perry @ DeBordieu. it was great to have such a relaxing weekend because i am so anxious to find out the baby's gender tomorrow.
